BWL residential electric customers may recycle up to two refrigerators, freezers, room air conditioners and dehumidifiers. Appliances must be operable to qualify for the program.

Prepare for Your Pick-Up Appointment

Representatives from BWL’s contractor, Lansing Junk Removal, will come to your home and pick up your appliance. The representatives will take care of all loading responsibilities for your appliance. 

• Customers must empty out the unit that is being picked up and clear space around the unit so that it can be easily moved out of their home. 
• If the appliance has a water line it must be disconnected prior to the pickup. 
• There must be a person over the age of 18 present at the time of pick up. 
• We will ask for verification of the customer’s Board of Water & Light account number at the time of pick up and a signed release form verifying that the unit is operable.

Your rebate check will be mailed to your home within 4 weeks of pick-up.
