Residential Electric Rate Overview

Charging customers based on time of use rates enables you to save money and be in control of your energy bills and your usage. Take a look at your time of use options for rates, RES1 or RESTOU, and compare your rates for potential cost savings. 

On-Peak: Time at which your energy use costs the most, high level of demand for energy

Off-Peak: Time at which your energy use costs the least, low level of demand for energy

TOU: Time of Use

RES1: Time of use calculation with an off-peak summer rate of $0.1504 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), and an on-peak summer rate of $0.1778 per kWh.

RESTOU: Time of use calculation for residential electric customers who want to take a more active approach and are looking for extra savings by shifting their energy usage to off-peak times. (Rate does change from summer to winter)

kWh: Kilowatt hour 

On-Peak: Time at which your energy use costs the most, high level of demand for energy 

Off-Peak: Time at which your energy use costs the least, low level of demand for energy

A pie chart shows time-of-use electricity rates. The green off-peak period covers 8 p.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays, plus all day Saturday, Sunday, and designated holidays. The blue on-peak period covers 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. The chart labels 12 a.m., 1 p.m., 8 p.m., and 12 p.m. around the clock face.

Electric rate schedule valid October 1, 2026. Summer weekday rates are 15.04 cents/kWh from 12am to 1pm, 17.78 cents/kWh from 1-8pm and 15.04 cents/kWh from 8pm to 12am. Summer weekend and holiday rates are 15.04 cents/kWh all day. Winter weekday rates are 15.04 cents/kWh from 12am to 1pm, 17.41 cents/kWh from 1-8pm and 15.04 cents/kWh from 8pm to 12am. Winter weekend and holiday rates are 15.04 cents/kWh all day. Peak hours are 1-8pm on weekdays during both summer and winter.

Electric rate schedule valid October 1, 2026. Summer weekday rates are 11.77 cents/kWh from 12am to 1pm, 30.53 cents/kWh from 1-8pm and 11.77 cents/kWh from 8pm to 12am. Summer weekend and holiday rates are 11.77 cents/kWh all day. Winter weekday rates are 12.00 cents/kWh from 12am to 1pm, 18.26 cents/kWh from 1-8pm and 12.00 cents/kWh from 8pm to 12am. Winter weekend and holiday rates are 12.00 cents/kWh all day. Peak hours are 1-8pm on weekdays during both summer and winter.
