BWL Board of Commissioners Elect New Officers, Welcomes New Member
The Lansing Board of Water & Light Board of Commissioners elected new officers for 2022-2023, and welcomed a new member on Tuesday, July 26. Semone James (First Ward) was elected as chairperson, replacing Commissioner David Price (At-Large), and Sandra Zerkle (Fourth Ward) was re-elected as vice chair.
The Board officially welcomed Maggie Sanders, representing Lansing Charter Township. Sanders is the supervisor of the Charter Township of Lansing. She served as the Lansing Township Clerk for two years, has served as the administrative assistant to the Meridian Township clerk, and worked as an election inspector for Lansing Township and Meridian Township. Sanders graduated from Lansing Community College with an Associate’s degree in Political Science and earned an M.S.A. in Public Administration.
The BWL Board of Commissioners is made up of eight Lansing residents, each appointed for a four-year term on the Board by the mayor and confirmed by city council, and three non-voting members representing outside service territories.
