BWL to Welcome Student Tours for Careers in Energy Week

The Lansing Board of Water & Light will open its doors to Lansing-area students to celebrate Careers in Energy Week. Tours will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, October 16 to local high school students to showcase different career opportunities in the energy industry.

“We’re looking ahead to become the utility of the future, and part of that includes attracting the right talent to help us achieve our goal of providing 30 percent clean energy by 2020 and 40 percent by 2030,” said BWL Executive Director of Human Resources Michael Flowers. “We’re glad to open our doors to the next generation and show them what a career in the energy industry can look like.”

Careers in Energy Week was proclaimed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to be held October 14-18 to bring awareness about professional opportunities in the energy industry across the state. For more information on Careers in Energy Week, visit CareersInEnergyMichigan.com.
