BWL Work Management Team: Did You Know?
Posted

Planning. Coordination. Scheduling. That’s what the Work Management (WM) team at BWL is built to do. Each department at BWL receives support from the WM team, ensuring that work is scheduled and planned in a timely and practical fashion - whether that is for transmission and distribution, or just regular office functions.
The WM team is made up of detail-oriented people who plan, schedule and report out on 5,000 maintenance hours of BWL field crew members every week. WM employees are located in six different facilities at BWL, ensuring all areas can be fully supported at all times by the schedulers and planners.
At BWL, when work needs to be scheduled or completed, employees submit a work request ticket through our WM team. Once that request is received, the WM team coordinates the work – interacting with almost every department in the BWL plus our customers, vendors, governmental entities and more. Because of this high level of interaction, the WM team not only has to have strong organization skills and a solid technical comprehension of their area, but also an advanced ability to communicate with all types of people.
“Our team is very versatile. Everyone trains and learns how to do multiple roles throughout the company to back each other up when needed. We all look out for each other,” says Pamela Moore, Manager of the Work Management office.
Plus, they do a lot to give back. Together, the team regularly volunteers for BWL sponsored events and supported other community organizations. Over the years they’ve done team volunteering at the Greater Lansing Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Child and Family’s Adopt a Family for the Holidays, and even packed rescue bags for the unhoused.
The WM team's dedication truly shines across all BWL departments and in the Lansing community.
